I am growNman 122 Decision-Making for Modern Men
what up, though, and welcome back to I'm growing man. It's your man, john d, in the building. It's been a minute since I'm. I've actually made a recording because I've had so many. Actually, I did just make one for this past week, but I'm gonna do a few of them in a row because I haven't been feeling well and I don't want to ever get sick where I can't put out content.
Speaker 0:So today I wanted to focus on just decision-making. As a man, I think we get these messages that we're the controller of our own fate, but the decisions that we're making, often if it's not in the best interest of everybody around, they've been compromised, they're playing a different game. And, specifically speaking, is I wanted to like touch on again the alpha male. You know, I think that the way that we view alpha males, we're thinking of the ones that are the leaders and that could get people to run through a building and all of these ideas. But when I think of an alpha male, I think of a man who is trying to intentionally improve to make sure that his kids and his wife can enjoy life. The best way in his control, like to provide information, and, he said, shows them the correct way to to do things so that when they do go off, they did everything that they could. You know and I'm seeing the distractions that's preventing man from being great. Specifically like money, you know everybody's trying to make this, this amount of money, so that they can live a specific way, and you know 99% of the people who's aiming for it have no idea the amount of work it actually takes and by the time they get the idea that they could do it, they're burnt out and they're working for somebody. And I guess I'm trying to tie all that into as far as the alpha male like, sometimes we are distracted away from self-improvement, like we can improve every single day, all throughout the day. There are so many areas for improvement. There are areas that you don't even know about. But, specifically talking about the ones that you do, if you just did just a little bit worked on it every single day, you would see an amount of growth that you can't get unless you do it on purpose. So, with thinking about the idea of the alpha male, I do believe that in this day and age we have to evolve the alpha male into somebody who could get results that the environment will benefit from. It's really difficult to be a balanced person when you're stressed out about something. True, stress is everywhere, but when you find the mastery of self, you only worry about things you can control. And when you do that on a regular basis, you will focus on the areas that you need to control and you'll improve them and you'll enjoy life. You'll enjoy life in ways that I haven't been able to still describe, but I'm still on here trying to.
Speaker 0:I had a conversation today with a friend. We were talking about the importance of communication and I believe that the messenger is really the most important person. If the person doesn't receive the message, even though you said it, you think you said it the best way you could. If they don't get it, then what was the point of you even giving a message? And he told me somewhere in the Quran it says that you're supposed to learn the language of the people and I think a lot of times we let our education and our experience hide the person that we should be. You know and we don't know. We're doing it because you know we've been fed these messages to like move up, you know, academically, and there's nothing wrong with that, but sometimes we can get on a path where we can leave people behind, and it's an uncomfortable situation where you're in a place of growth and understanding and the people that you want to understand don't have time for.
Speaker 0:That was one of the things that used to eat me up in the beginning and I used to always say don't worry about things you can't control. I cannot control somebody else. Get it. And I used to always say don't worry about things you can't control. I cannot control somebody else. And that's where I got to the point where I realized all I can do is share my information and do my best to express it in a way where somebody says I didn't look at it like that and my overall summation of how I move through life now is just taking a little bit from everybody's walk of life. Everybody's good at something and if you listen when I say listen, I mean like try to process what they're trying to say you can learn something, you can get something and apply it to your life and you could become a better person. Things like that will enhance your life to a degree that will make you addicted to wanting to find ways to improve.
Speaker 0:I do believe I think the last one I was just talking about life being fulfilling. Where we are now. We're in the information age. We have all this information. The problem with having so much information it's trying to filter out what's good for you, what's not good for you, what's preventing you from finding your purpose. And I think your purpose comes when you start taking care of the only body you got. A lot of times we put things in there to distract us or cloud our judgment, and when you clean your body out it gives you a clarity where you realize all the answers was already right in front of you. You just didn't know you were that important.
Speaker 0:And where I am now is trying to effectively communicate a message that says if you believe in yourself, if you take a committed approach to mastering your diet when I say mastering your diet I mean literally like don't eat after the last meal of the evening Hopefully it's no later than seven. Drink enough water that is half your body weight. Make sure you get the amount of nutrients from vegetables and fruits. A lot of people will just eat something to put in their body to get that energy. But you have to be more purposeful with what you put in your body A lot of, but you have to be more purposeful with what you put in your body. A lot of people say it's too expensive to eat healthy. It isn't. It's expensive. It can be, but vegetables and fruits and eating the right portions is not expensive. We have to learn discipline. A lot of us don't have the discipline and that's the reason why obesity has run rampant in the Western world, because food has become a lot easier to get and they make it so delicious, where majority of the people who are obese are addicted to delicious foods. And we have addicts walking around in broad daylight but nobody says anything because everybody's on the same drugs. And then when you hear somebody who's not on the drugs, they're not addicted to it and they mention something. They're the weirdos.
Speaker 0:So in order for man to truly evolve and become who they're supposed to be when I say man, I'm referring to a woman also you have to create the energy you want. A lot of times we're looking for somebody to give us that push, but if you don't have your stuff together, why would somebody want to be attracted to that? Why would you personally want to attract somebody if you haven't gotten your things together? That's like somebody's getting you involved with them and they didn't get their stuff together and now you're involved emotionally and you. It's like a no-win situation. So information, to sum up what I'm trying to give everybody If you believe in yourself and you put the right things in your body, you walk eight to 10,000 steps.
Speaker 0:You want to keep your body active because if you don't use it, you'll lose it, and I'm hearing that a lot. So we have to be mindful of that. We should stretch, you know. Just do regular things to take care of your body, because your body is responsible for everything. And if your body breaks down, what can you really do, you know. So once you learn how to control your body, you'll create areas of your life to improve and through the course of time, you will master areas that certain people just didn't care to master because they didn't get that far. But in order to find your purpose, you really have to watch how you take care of your body, and I think that's the truth. Like the universe works for those who works for it, and why would somebody give you a purpose if you're not even taking care of the only vessel that you have to translate, a message that a lot of us are waiting for. So we have to literally reteach ourselves the proper way to nourish our bodies and not be addicted, because imagine the babies who are born to a family who don't have the best eating practices. Their purpose is going to get so lost from the insecurities of just being overweight. Nobody wants to be overweight, but nobody is making this issue dire.
Speaker 0:I really believe that if we don't get a hold of it, we're going to be the good group of people in the new Bible that died from addiction of delicious foods, just like they had wiped out with the flood and then the fire. This time it's not just the addictions, you know, and food being the leading addictive substance that people can't control. And I believe that we do have enough information to turn that around. And if we don't have better examples of people that's enjoying life, saying this is what you can do, it's going to be just like a wasted effort for the world to evolve into what it's supposed to, but that is really dark and negative. I do believe that when people realize how important the foods they put in their body will change their life, they'll be more committed, and it's just going to take just probably one or two people in an area that learns self-mastery.
Speaker 0:I've done a lot of research on Confucianism, taoism, buddhism, christianity, islam, judaism, you know, just a culmination of things. And all of them want people to do better. But I do realize that all of them separate groups into people. I mean separate people into different groups that can create this poor idea of somebody being better than the other. And what I realize is that if you can just be open-minded in learning from other cultures, you'll make whatever you believe in that much stronger. But we have to be open to believing that we don't have all the information or all the right information, or there's other people that was better in certain areas of life than we are, and we can adopt that and become a better people. But we have to believe that that is the case. I see people. They study their area forward and backward and believe that that is the final say, and I feel like they've clouded their judgment and created a ceiling that can not allow them to grow in areas that the God that they believe in would like them to grow in. They can't because we don't understand language, you know, and not understanding language creates the.
Speaker 0:When there's a misunderstanding, that we don't understand how to have proper dialogue, we end up in conflicts where bad things happen and the person I was talking about earlier he just mentioned, like everybody, should be purposeful in mastering communication. Everybody, like we're so far behind in communication that if none of us believe that it's important, we're going to still be killing people, we're going to still have conflicts and where death is going to be like a result. I know you can't stop death, but there's no reason why we can't have a real conversation on why you shouldn't be killing me, like what did I do to die? You know, and I get, like everybody got their story right, but I know my story. I don't want to have anything to do with taking somebody else's life because that's not the.
Speaker 0:I don't think that's the nature of man. I think the nature of man is to evolve and if you get the wrong messages or you compromise where you can't help others, you will become selfish in ways that will cloud your judgment on life. The way that I see it, people who complain they complain because they never dealt with the trauma from how they grew up and when you change your diet, you unlayer that part. The trauma from your childhood is really what created your ceilings, the people who influenced you the most. Just think about who gave you that foundation. You know more than them and some of your foundation is still stuck because you haven't reevaluated or went back to it to determine. Hey, I guess I did have a closed mindset, but once you realize there's way better information than the information you got that place right there is addictive it is. It's something that I challenge anybody who could listen and receive a message.
Speaker 0:You are that important. If you believe you're that important, find a routine where you can only create good habits. Remove your bad habits. You will fall in love with the person you become because you knew where you came from. It was almost impossible to get where you're going to go, but the only person who can tell that story is you. Y'all make today better than yesterday. Don't worry about anything you can't control. G-a-t-a Get after that action or the action will get after you. Be great on purpose.
